Composition of the ICC International Court of Arbitration
At the 189th session of the ICC World Council, which took place in Durban, South Africa, on 23 June 2005, two new members-Dr Hellwig Torggler and Ms Géraldine Gazo-were appointed to the ICC International Court of Arbitration, respectively for Austria and Monaco.1 The ICC Court currently comprises the following members, who hold office until 31 December 2005.

Secretariat appointment
Erica Stein has been appointed Counsel in charge of one of the Secretariat's seven case-management teams, replacing Jennifer Kirby, now Deputy Secretary General.
Ms Stein is a United States citizen. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in international relations from Brown University in the State of Rhode Island, USA, and a certificate in political science from the Institut d'études politiques (Sciences-Po) in Paris, Ms Stein graduated in law from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, where she concentrated on private international law and international arbitration. She has also studied German law at the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. Ms Stein's professional experience prior to joining ICC spanned law firms and courts in the United States, Argentina and Germany. Ms Stein is a member of the New York Bar and speaks English, French, German and Spanish.
1 The appointment of the Court's members is made pursuant to Article 3 of its statutes, which form Appendix I to the ICC Rules of Arbitration. According to Article 3(3), members are appointed by the ICC World Council on the proposal of ICC national committees, one member for each committee. According to Article 3(4), the ICC World Council may appoint alternate members on the proposal of the Chairman of the ICC Court.
